...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 430 PM CDT
FOR PETTIS COUNTY...
At 413 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Green Ridge to 9 miles south of Sedalia to Cole
Camp, moving northeast at 60 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
La Monte, Sedalia, Sedalia Memorial Arpt, Smithton, Green Ridge,
Hughesville, and Windsor.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 700 PM CDT for central
Missouri.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
